Look Within
And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. - 2 Kings 4:2
The widow woman had a problem. She and her sons were in trouble, so she went to the prophet, Elisha. His response was something like, “What do you want me to do? What do you have to help yourself?” He made her realize what she had and could do to save her family.
Sometimes, when faced with problems, you look for outside help. You expect the answers to come from an external source. In some cases, they should. However, the help either is not there or you’re looking in the wrong places. The only other option is to look within. You have the answer inside you or in your house. There’s something you can do to save yourself. You’ve overlooked it. You take it for granted. You don’t realize how valuable it is. Yet, if your situation is going to change, you must identify it. Maybe it’s another person already connected to you. Maybe it’s a gift or skill. Maybe it’s an object. Just stop looking out there. Look within.
