God?
See now that I, even I, am He, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. - Deuteronomy 32:39
During this trying season that we’re in (August 7, 2020), it may be difficult for some to believe that God is in control. You may wonder why He’s allowing circumstances as they are. I can relate to that. In recent years I’ve endured situations that almost caused me to question His existence. I think it comes from a lack of understanding of who He is. Many of us have spent most of our lives thinking He’s just a sweet, Santa Claus type of God who only blesses us in ways that are convenient and comfortable. We need to understand that He moves in different ways. Sometimes, He expresses Himself in methods that don’t seem favorable to us. Isaiah 55:8 says, “For my thought are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.” We can grow to know the Lord better. We can go beyond our present limited thinking. However, we’ll never fully understand Him. He’s too deep for our finite minds. By faith we must believe that, whatever He does and however He does it, it’s for the best He’s sovereign. We must trust Him at all times. We’re in a season. It won’t last forever. Keep the faith.
