Freedom in Bondage
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. – Matthew 11:29
We are presented with numerous choices. With those choices, we have the right to make our own decisions. It is important to understand that many decisions lead to either life or death. (Deuteronomy 30:19, Proverbs 14:12) God wants us all to have a life that liberates us from the yoke of death. However, it is not a liberation that frees us from all submission and accountabilities. Truthfully, it is an exchange from one yoke to another. While a yoke is an instrument of control, the Lord’s yoke is easy. It is not heavy or harsh. Through His holy spirit He lovingly leads us to the more abundant life Jesus came to give us. (John 10:10) So, we should not hesitate to humbly accept His yoke. There is no greater freedom than to be bound in Jesus Christ.
