Peacefully Single

A mistake that many Singles make is spending too much time thinking about or preparing for marriage. This can lead to frustration. Marriage takes two. So, no matter how prepared you may be, if you don’t have a ready and willing significant other, you still have to wait. Or, if you have committed your life to God’s will, you won’t marry until He says it’s time.

The key is to be at peace right where you are. Ask the people around you for support. Tell them something like, “I’m single and want to be at peace with that. Please support me where I am and don’t pressure me to marry.” Try to find a support group or Singles’ ministry that really supports being single. Avoid those who spend a lot of time on subjects like ‘How to prepare for marriage’ or ‘How to know when you’ve found the right one’. Instead, put your efforts into becoming the best you and enjoy your freedom.
