Partners of Purpose
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. – John 15:15
After the apostles had been with Jesus and served Him for some time, He changed their status. They went from being servants to being His friends. They had been faithful and obedient, so their relationship became more special. Plus, He had shared with them what God had told Him.
No matter who you are you need people around you who you can trust and talk to. However, you cannot make yourself available to everyone. Be selective. Verse sixteen clarifies that His circle were people whom He chose, not people who attached themselves. Sometimes, when you have favor, people will try and give themselves a beneficial connection in your life. Take time to pray, and God will lead you to those He has preordained for you to covenant with. Together, you will receive promotion from Him.
So, it is good to have a supportive team. However, know that you can not let everyone in. Recognize times when you should pull away and be with God only. Handle relationships wisely. Your life will be more meaningful.
