Keep Fighting

Through thee will we push down our enemies:  through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.  – Psalm 44:5

Being in a constant battle will wear anyone down.  I think of our ancestors and the fight they faced every day for years.  Yet, many of them never gave up.  They continued to look forward to a day of freedom.  Faith and hope kept them going.

What we deal with today is nothing like the struggles of our African-American ancestors. However, we have tiring fights of our own. Just as God brought them through, He will do the same for us. (Psalm 16:10) At times when you want to quit, when you feel defeated, consider the conflict. Adversaries would not constantly come against you if your greatness were not a threat. There would not be so much opposition if there were not a great prize. So, with His help, regain your strength. Stay in covenant with Him and those standing with you. Instead of being discouraged by the fight, be encouraged that there is something worth fighting for. We have another day to slay. We have already won. Keep fighting!
