Christians, Love, and Fornication

As Christians, we should understand the importance of showing love to others. Love is the foundation of Christianity. If you love someone, then you want what's best for them. We know that pleasing God is what's best.

Many Christians are in romantic relationships and say they love their significant other. Yet, they indulge in fornication which is sin, and does not please God. (I Corinthians 6:18) It is not an act of love. When/if you do it, you're only trying to satisfy yourself in one way or another. You are not thinking about what's best for your partner. Many who are guilty of this will say, "We know it's wrong, but we can't help it, because we love each other so much". Or, one may say to the other, "If you love me, you will". Actually, if you're acting in love, you won't.

I’m not advocating for Christian couples to make a mad dash to the altar. Just be mindful that sex outside of marriage is not an act of love.
