Trust

Exodus 32:1 says, "And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him."

Because Moses had been on the mountain for what the people thought was too long, they were ready to replace and leave him. Their pride got in the way. They couldn't see what was going on. They couldn't have a say-so and tell Moses what to do. They didn't know how much longer it would be. So, they decided to take matters into their own hands. They were about to give up on "the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt". (Egypt is where they were held in slavery for about 400 years.) They didn't know how to sit, wait, and trust. Their history with Moses didn't matter. However, by the hand of God, they soon learned they had made a big mistake.

We have to accept that our relationship with others (especially our leaders) can come to a place where we don't understand. But, before giving up, consider the past with them and ask if that's really the right thing to do.
