Nip it!

Years ago while cutting the grass, I noticed a weed growing against my neighbors' fence. It was a few inches tall and very thin and flimsy. I could have pulled it up with my bare hands or cut it with scissors. But, I was more concerned with getting the grass cut. So, I would look at it and say, "I'll deal with it later." By the time I finished cutting the grass, I would forget about it. The next time I cut the grass, I would do the same thing; look at the weed and say, "I'll deal with it when I'm finished". In the picture below you see that weed. It is now a tall bush and has some cousins. I can no longer pull it up with my bare hands or cut it down with scissors. It will take more effort, and probably money, to get rid of it. The lesson is: Deal with a problem when you see it forming. Don't let it get out of hand. As Barney Fife says, "Nip it...!"
