From Loss to Overflow
The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell. - Isaiah 49:20
When you have faith in God you expect good things to happen in your life. However, unexpected challenges and setbacks occur. These times can be difficult to bear. Here are some tips to help guarantee your recovery:
Remember that God is in control. Nothing happens that He does not permit. Everything that He permits has a purpose or cause. Spend time in prayer to determine what it is and how you should respond.
Accept responsibility. Be honest with yourself about any part you may have played to open the door for the occurrence. Be willing to make necessary changes or moves to avoid it in the future.
Keep your faith in God. He is your source. The wisdom you need to recover comes from Him. He will show you what to do. He will supply what you need to make a comeback.
Obey God. Your obedience keeps you in right standing with Him. Anyone in right standing with Him can ask anything in faith in Jesus’ name, and it will be done.
As hard as it may be, do not walk away from God. Consider Job. After all he suffered and lost, he kept his faith. (Job 1:22) In the end, God gave him more than what he had before. (Job 42:12) Sometimes, the setback is only a test of your faith. Will you pass or will you give up? Stay with God. He will make your ending so much greater than your beginning.
