A Reserved Heart
I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. - Psalms 139:1
There are many people, places, and things that demand our attention. Whomever and whatever we make a priority and give control becomes our god. Some find a way to take control and make themselves a god. Relatives have the tendency to be presumptuous. They should be told what Abram should have told Lot; “God is calling me, not you. You stay here”. (Genesis 12:1-5) We must guard ourselves and keep our focus on the only one God of heaven. He deserves first place in our lives where there is no room for any other. He has blessings that are reserved only for those in His spiritual family who love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9) Some are not meant to be shared with everyone. So, no matter who or what is calling, pulling, or attaching themselves to you, make it known where your heart resides. If you sacrifice many for the One, the One will lead you to a likeminded many.
